Conference on the State of the Art in the Artistic Fields of Animation, Comics and Game Art in Francophone Countries and Serbia

Yesterday, on November 9, the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad hosted an online conference called “Drawing the Lines” with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia and the French Institute in Serbia, for artists and enthusiasts in the field of comics, animation, and game art in Francophone Countries and Serbia. The conference saw several Iervolino Studios representatives in the role of moderators and panelists.  

The first panel and most important one to us as a studio was, of course, the panel on ANIMATION. It was moderated by Mileta Poštić, Storyboard Director and ITC Manager at Iervolino Studios, and professor at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. 

The panel participants were Peter Nalli, Head of Animation & VFX (ILBE and IES) and Mauriziana Gualdrini (Normaal). They talked about animation and digital communication strategies and techniques in their respective countries, successful examples and companies in other markets, and about potential joint projects and collaboration opportunities in the field of animation.

Another panel which focused on Game Art was also moderated by an IES representative – Vukašin Šoć, Assistant Professor at the Academy of Arts, University of Novi Sad, and scriptwriter at Iervolino Studios.  

Our IES people and all other parties involved did an amazing job of educating and entertaining the audience. Simultaneous translations were provided, so that people could tune in to the Serbian, English and French streams of the conference. 

One of the objectives of this online conference was to contribute to the strengthening of the cooperation among professionals in the fields of Comic Art, Animation, and Game Art, with each of these fields presented and discussed via three panel discussions. 

Thank you to everyone who organized and participated in this unique and in-depth conference which guarantees to strengthen the relationship between artists and professionals in the fields of comic art, animation, and game art, and provide a platform where we can all create together!
