Congrats to ILBE and the Oscar-Nominated Song “Applause”
Congratulations to ILBE and everyone behind "Tell It Like a Woman" for their 2023 Oscar nomination.
Congratulations to ILBE and everyone behind "Tell It Like a Woman" for their 2023 Oscar nomination.
Congratulations to our parent company, Iervolino & Lady Bacardi Entertainment, and to our co-founders Andrea Iervolino and Lady Monika Bacardi, for taking Italy to the 2023 Academy Awards® with the all-female anthology “Tell it Like a Woman” and the Oscar-nominated song from the movie, called “Applause”.
For ILBE Studios, you are the winners. To be nominated for an Oscar is a great honor in itself, and we would like to congratulate everyone who was involved in the making of the all-female anthology “Tell It Like a Woman”, including We Do It Together, the producers of the movie alongside ILBE Group.
Congratulations to Sofia Carson, who performed the Oscar-nominated song, and 14-time Oscar-nominated songwriter Diane Warren, who wrote the powerful ballad for the movie. “Applause” was nominated for Best Original Song at the Oscars 2023, but lost to “Naatu Naatu”, the first Indian film song to win an Oscar.
Sofia Carson and Diane Warren put in a breathtaking live performance of their Best Original Song nominee at the Oscars and echoed a powerful message to women across the world. Sofia urged the women of the world to “give yourself some applause” during the powerful performance of the song, which celebrates the strength and tenacity of women.
The movie “Tell It Like a Woman”, for which ‘Applause’ was composed, is produced by our parent company, Iervolino & Lady Bacardi Entertainment (ILBE), and We Do It Together, founded by Chiara Tilesi. “Tell It Like a Woman” showcases women’s courage and determination through seven short films written by eight female directors.
“We are very proud and honored to bring Italy to the Oscars with the song Applause. This nomination proves that successful films of international scope can be produced in Italy and a sign that Italian cinema is experiencing a growth moment, notably with the Ministry of Culture’s crucial support,” said Andrea Iervolino, CEO of Iervolino & Lady Bacardi Entertainment.
Once again, we congratulate everyone who made “Tell It Like a Woman” possible, as well as the song “Applause”. Receiving such an acknowledgement by the Academy is a tremendous accomplishment and something to be forever proud of. As Andrea Iervolino said after the Oscar ceremony, “Let’s get ready for the 2024 Oscars”. Good luck, and just like in the song, “Give yourself some applause,” because you deserve it!
