Film and TV production company Iervolino Entertainment, parent company of the domestic Iervolino Studios, announced a new project entitled “Tell It Like A Woman”, in collaboration with the non-profit production company We Do It Together, which aims to empower women. This anthological film, composed of six interconnected stories, gathers six female directors from all over the world, while the production is entrusted to Chiara Tilesi, Lucas Akonsin, Monika Bacardi and Andrea Iervolino.
The film is being shot in Italy, India and the United States in a genre that ranges from drama, through comedy and docudrama, to animated format. Additionally to the world-famous actresses Eva Longoria and Cara Delevingne, other internationally renowned artists have been chosen for a role in “Tell It Like A Woman” – Margherita Buy, Marcia Gay Harden, Leonor Varela and Jacqueline Fernandez. The first four segments of the film have already been shot, directed by Maria Sole Tognazzi, Lucia Puenzo, Catherine Hardwicke and Leena Yadav.
“It is a great honor for me to have the opportunity to work with such an extraordinary team and contribute to conveying a message that is bigger and more important than the film itself – and that is gender equality. Also, it was very important for us that the whole project is realized on a global level, because the issue of equality concerns all of us, which is why we filmed it in several different locations around the world,“ said Andrea Iervolino, CEO and founder of Iervolino Entertainment.
The non-profit production company We Do It Together was founded in 2016 with the aim of making feature and documentary films, television and other content, dedicated exclusively to empowering women and breaking stereotypes about them in the entertainment industry, which is mostly “ruled” by men.
“Our mission is to improve and change the status of women in film and in the media – from objects to subjects. We are dedicated to telling stories about women, whether they are behind or in front of the camera, and that is why the “Tell It Like A Woman” project is so important. We have gathered female directors from all over the globe to tell stories in their own way about all those heroines around us, their ambitions and desires – from health workers, mothers, to artists and business women,” said Chiara Tilesi, founder and president of We Do It Together and added that it is very important that women continue to talk about other women, especially after the United Nations published a study about “The Impact of COVID on Women”, which showed that gender inequality is still very present and deeply rooted in society.
Let us remind you that Iervolino Entertainment opened a company for the production of short animated content for digital platforms in Serbia – Iervolino Studios, during the previous year.
